I suggest that you swot up on your business knowledge and while you're at it try a little grammar and spelling.
If you are the typical "employed" civil servant in the Islands then God help us.....
I guess your lack of knowledge, acumen and general english skills means that you are like the rest in the Comhairle - unsackable....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17278382.post-66622004545940540882009-01-18T09:51:00.000+00:002009-01-18T09:51:00.000+00:00anon 2:47People choose to be self employed. When caluclating your daily rate you need to take that into account and also days off ill ?2 weeks. You then come out with a daily rate for your costs. If you can't vover bthose costs then either increase your prices or return to the fold.
As I recall most self employed people (paid via a company) get paid the minimum rate and take the rest out as a dividend this reduces their tax and NI burden (somethiong employed people cannot do). Of course being self employed you can charge your partner to mthe companny too and offset you car/van mobile phone etc. etc. If you have any queries over this, please contact your accountant or Angus for furtehr information.
So you're not so hard done too after all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17278382.post-13232092669466391572009-01-17T08:46:00.000+00:002009-01-17T08:46:00.000+00:0035? back to school for you my boy. Try being self employed with sprogs. You don't get paid if you take time off and you have kids that need looking after, so this costs you money.
Stop whinging and think yourself lucky.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17278382.post-37820464220159794712009-01-16T20:33:00.000+00:002009-01-16T20:33:00.000+00:00Its that Angus Nicholson pointing out others grama...Its that Angus Nicholson pointing out others gramatical errors again. At the moment we have the public holidays Fri10/Mon13 April where the kids return from holiday on the 13th, and then Fri9/Sat12 October where the kids finish for hols on the 9th. That means 2 days where the adults are off but the kids aren't. Hard enough having time off with the lovely sprogs but a simple reallocation of dates would help a large number of families.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
