Wind turbine lost overboard

It's difficult to believe the series of events that have befallen this wind turbine in it's short life. I had been looking forward to the Arnish moor windfarm being up and running as soon as possible, to allow everyone to see just how wind turbines will look against the moorland.

But, if it is not one thing it is another, and I am now looking forward to the slightly reduced development going ahead.

They were ill-fated from the start. They should never have been allowed. All I can say is that those against them can sleep easy for a while. If the problems with these wind-farms are stacking up would it not be an idea pack in the project. Nobody wanted them in the first place, so them being delayed isn't really much to kick a fuss up about. By plonking these squarely in the middle of some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain, is going to scar the island's reputation of having stunning landscape, which is what tourists want to see.

You think that out by Arnish is "stunning landscape", maybe you need glasses...

Not just Arnish. if Arnish goes ahead that will spur on other developments. Arnish may not be eye-opening but it is the first thing a majority of tourists are going to see coming in from ullapool. O.K so it may not be giving a good impression of the rest of the island as it is, but it is certainly better than what it will look like with big 400 feet lumps of metal and concrete towering over Arnish. These will pave the way for further abominations.

As Machaseo said the windfarms will kickstart further developments, and these godawful creations will sprout up everywhere. The less the better, and why can't these lumps of metal be put somewhere that they can't be seen by either myself or the rest of island.

may I ask Bonnie Scotland if she/he was born here and if she has children who cannot move away? The more jobs on this island the better - and i would prefer them to be in the renewable energy market than the nuclear power industry!
