When they get round to making a full and frank disclosure, then full details will appear here.
The blog formerly known as "Angus Nicolson - an incredulous eye on the isles" this was the blog of an ordinary, boring, former Councillor in the Western Isles of Scotland.
Angus is taking a sabbatical to be with his young family
Debate strengthens democracy, except inside the SNP, as he has discovered.
If you want balance then get some scales. This is opinion - our opinion.
Any proven errors of fact made will be corrected in the original article, or by publishing a correction at the same degree of prominence, or both. As far as practical, others who have quoted the article will be requested to make a note in their article - this would include, for example pinging back with the correction those who had linked to the original piece.
If articles are ever removed, a statement of why that has been done will be left in situ.
The rest is entirely at my discretion.

Come on Angus, you can't start telling such a tale and then leave it. If the suggestion is true, then the man? concerned can sit tight and nothing will happen. Much better to give them a dealine and unless they confirm/deny or alter the register (having forgotten about these other things) publish the name and the details. You never know, there might have to have a bye election. Is it one of mine (Point)? {:-)))
I believe you need to take a look to your south.........
I looked at the Councils online Register of Interests as astounded at the apparent lack of information available. It looks like it has been updated recently, but there are still one or two Councillors who have no or very little detail entered at all. Surely this cannot be correct? Many of our elected elite seem to have no income whatsoever. When I first looked many had even failed to mention which political party they were affiliated to, which was in conflict with information on the Members Contact details page.
If we are to have confidence in our elected representatives it is essential that they do provide this information at the start of their term not wait until someone notices something is wrong.
I agree with the earlier poster, name and shame. I hope you have also passed this information onto the appropriate body who deals with standards in public life. If you haven't does this not make you complicit in the deception?
Maybe now I have made links to the relevant Comhairle pages other will look to see whether our Councillors are being honest in what they declare. When I first looked I found that none appeared to be Mason's now I find that several are, what prompted these entries?
