Contaminated land

If the Council are to buy the lease of site of the former oil depot on North Beach quay, then have they done a full contaminated land survey, and have they provided in full for the costs of cleaning the site, surrounding area and as far down into the ground as any contamination goes?

I really - sincerely - hope so, as reports I have seen indicated the extent and cost of the likely problem on that site were huge.

Just what is the budget for the works, and how much is for clearing the contaminated land?

And later, lets find what it really cost......

Is it true that the council are going in as fuel suppliers for the Western Isles Under a company called B & C Fuels

Yes you will soon see large storage tanks appearing on the Council leased quay site. Only people with access to the quay will get fuel until the new depot is up and running with access from the carpark. A new forecourt will be created in Percival square, but this will be only temporary until the 20 pump facility is complete at the bayhead Estuary.

So that's what these massive tanks are for. They came of the ferry last night and were being unloaded in perceval square this morning.
Losing all these parking spaces will be a problem but they say the fuel will be a lot cheaper.
