Dick Manson resigns, and not before time.
But where is he off to, and how did he get another NHS position given his mishandling of the Western Isles? Incompetence rewarded?
Off course, he is close to retirement and will simply be boosting his final pension pot -- which as you will know is very generous to those in managerial positions.
No doubt there will be drinks all round tonight as the staff leave work.

In light of the recent Holyrood Audit Committee hearing on the Western Isles Health Board I've been looking back through your old blogs and noticed the 'at long last' post on Dick Manson's resignation.
I also noted the following quote on the BBC news site from the same day.
'This is a further positive step in the recent affairs of NHS Western Isles and is a move which will be warmly greeted throughout the islands' - Councillor Angus McCormack.
Of course now that Councillor McCormack is Comhairle representative on the Health Board I've heard he doesn't say much at Board meetings. His main job now is to provide a Labour shield around the current Labour Chairman, so he's saying nothing further on Mr. Manson - who I understand ruined Carstairs State Hospital before he ruined things in the Western Isles.
