The man who wasn't there....
Look mate; you might want to sit at home rather than have to travel, but you took the job of MP knowing the terms and conditions. If you can't or won't hack it, then step down and let someone else do it.
You might think it would be great watch daytime TV and issuing press releases whilst casting your vote electronically, but in the real world you have to do your job to get the fat pension and the fat expenses.
Are you really that disillusioned already? If so, resign and fight an election on the slogan of "Virtually Representing You".

Angus,
The Barra Boy is misunderstood. He doesn't need to be in Westminster to hear the debate because he already knows how he is going to vote. The debate (or what passes for a debate), is irrelevant. So by staying at home in Barra he can devote his time to his home affairs as opposed to devoting his time to other affairs.
Unfortunately for the Barra Boy, the ramifications of this means that we the electorate could ourselves vote. If he can vote electronically, then why not trial it here. Therefore we don't need an MP (any MP). We (the country) then save a fortune in their expenses, salaries etc. etc. A perfect democracy could rise from the regime that has now evolved.
MacNeil or McNulty?
As an aside but not totally unrelated; can someone somewhere set up a campaign to ban the 'Don't know' option from opinion polls? The current Gerzette internet poll has 41% don't knows concerning Rhoda DoDah's criticsm of the SNP. If the opinion polls are to cater for numpties then can the option 'I don't understand the question' be used...swiflty followed by the response 'well eff orff then'. Thank you Angus.
We are in the perfect democracy already, sharing the debt burden created by our politicians and bankers!
This blog makes no sense whatsoever! Since Angus achieved his split personality in blogland the blogs here have become very much poorer and today it has reached a real low point. Maybe it is time to curry the lazy chicken and get back to incisive stories.
Hardly, 9.42. Voting in parliament is a mere fraction of the work done by an MP. I would like to see one MP try to cope with the burden of correspondence and surgeries etc for the entire Highlands & Islands.

Very little of what LazyChicken says/rants makes sense...
The first link is to a story about Tony McNulty and the second is a duff link. What is it our MP has done to offend you?
It may have escaped 3.24's notice that the Tories are seeking to reduce the number of Westminster MPs to 400 should they win the next election. Do the sums; the total UK electorate is 44 million so this comes to an average electorate of around 110,000. Add the constituencies in the north of Scotland together and you get a single seat covering the Western and Northern Isles and the Northern Highlands. It's a real threat.
Hello 8.25. Who removed the weavers' benefits in the first place ? Angus or New Labour ? The bearded one is running about like a headless chicken wondering where next his New Labour will strike. Kitchen sinks, Washing machines, Tumble Driers, Plasma TVs and that's only one of the thieving toxics. Two Jags Prescott was bad enough,Two Houses McNulty even worse but Jacqui Sorry Sorry Smith is something else
[Except for the fact that like everything it will be horrendously mismanaged] I don't think a North of Scotland constituency is a bad idea - or at least it's worth considering. We don't seem to be able to elect any decent representatives at any level, so maybe a wider electorate and a less insular approach might give us some grown-up leadership.
Does anyone really care about the fire-raising? He could pluck his own sheep, for all I care, if he was doing his job. However...
The headline could have been written for the guy responsible for the latest bus fiasco. Can't catch a bus and where is the cratur who is supposed to be in charge? On holiday. Presumably not a busmans....
And what is the alternative to Mr MacNeil - Mr MacSween? The man who had to leave his job at An Comunn under an uncertain financial cloud?
Move on to more local matters Angus.
A glance at the CnES web site will show a raft of £40-50K jobs - who has left?
No these are jobs re-written for those in post already to get huge pay rises - it stinks while young junior grade mainly women clerical staff are taking cuts to pay for it.
It also seems one of these jobs has been lined up for the wife of the CEO!
The job for the Head of Roads needs no education qualification a civil engineering certificate will do, whereas normally a Principal Officer and above should have a degree in addition to a relevant career discipline - then the current occupant has no qualification! It stinks.
Take your crusasde back to the neoptisum of CnES - the Barra Boy will go in the next 12 months any way once the SNP let down the trusting electorate over the on shore renewables.
Too many folk in fear of their jobs are putting up with the scams going on in the White House.
Is a highland constituency so frightening? Surely for us anything would be an improvement! Can we get rid of the council and the Health board too?
8.26 [except for the fact that the first point in square brackets negates the main point of the anon you are criticising] not a bad point!
HELLO IS THER ANYBODY THERE ?????
