Religious education
The blog formerly known as "Angus Nicolson - an incredulous eye on the isles" this was the blog of an ordinary, boring, former Councillor in the Western Isles of Scotland.
Angus is taking a sabbatical to be with his young family
Debate strengthens democracy, except inside the SNP, as he has discovered.

Any proven errors of fact made will be corrected in the original article, or by publishing a correction at the same degree of prominence, or both. As far as practical, others who have quoted the article will be requested to make a note in their article - this would include, for example pinging back with the correction those who had linked to the original piece.
If articles are ever removed, a statement of why that has been done will be left in situ.
The rest is entirely at my discretion.

okay, I'll bite; which religion is teaching children this very week that it is correct to kill people who don't believe in their God?

I know the answer, our illustrious primary school, located in the centre of town.
Disgraceful and probably illegal but when has that ever stopped them..
It doesn't matter if our kids can read, write and do their sums. It doesn't matter if they eat shite, get fat and can barely walk 100 yards. Nor does it matter if their parents booze the days and nights away whilst watching Jeremy Kyle and Big Brother as long as they get the Christian message brainwashed into them.
How is what they are being taught any different than the extreme muslims who then don a suicide jacket filled with explosives to kill non believers?
Can a religion teach?
partly because they are not being taught that! the christian message is a peaceful one, it does not encourage people even to rebel against authorities. next you will be complaining that it is too uncomplaining, and it can be, but please go check the holes in your own philosophy before annoying any one elses!
Hmm. Seems to be some sloppy thinking here.
Is a 'religion' teaching this, or is it an individual(s) doing so? If the latter, is s/he following the actual tenets of the religion in question?
I'm wagering that the answers are, 'it's one individual, and no, s/he is not following the tenets of the religion in question'.
Now, if you want to hear preachers really and truly urging death to unbelievers, there are a number of venues in the UK which will supply the material, but last I knew Christianity and Christian churches asked its adherents merely to walk away from those who 'refuse to accept the message'.
Could Angus clarify his original comment?
