The truths they don't want you to read....

A Councillor overheard....

...bemoaning why he had not officially been told by the Chief Executive about the legal action brought by Angus, nor that there was a problem with the tendering process, nor that a very senior member of staff had been suspended, nor that an investigation which started in May was still continuing.

Has any Councillor directly asked the Chief Executive or Convener about this? Perhaps the top brass are working on the basis that some of the Councillors may form an appeals panel at some point and hence their ignorance is bliss.

However, this doesn't explain why no-one is being told why Audit Scotland are all over the Council and why Cllr Norman A MacDonald was dressed in his best suit for an allegedly very serious meeting with the Auditors investigating his role in the matter.

I'm hoping that we will see some of the internal emails on this blog, as I am told they are damning, but Angus is keeping them well hidden (so far). No doubt they will be used in Court in due course, to the great amusement of the public.

As a member of the public I doubt I will find this amusing, if Angus is successful then his compensation will be money that is no longer available for other public services. I would not want to discourage the man, he seems to have uncovered something, but none the less its not something to be happy about.

I doubt if many members of the public would be 'amused' by any of the antics of Angus or the council in recent years.

5:41, 10:04. So the alternative is to let the council get away - again - with corrupt practice that does not benefit the taxpayer, only council members and their families? And how does this cycle of abuse benefit the 'public services'?

Daresay you'd have a very different opinion to that stated if you found that your job, or business, suffered because the work was given to someone else. Not because they were better than you, but because it was the job allocators first cousin.

So just what the **** is this Councillor doing then, surely a Councillor worth his salt would know what was going on not bemoaning that he hadn't been told. This is not a big Metropolitan Council afterall.

This is just another example of how out of touch our Councillors are. (and out of their intellectual depths)

Sure it will be us the public who pays for this, as is ever the case, but if this debacle brings to the attention of those who can do something about it, just how corrupt a bunch of tossers we have here then it will be a very small price to pay.

This case is doing the public a service. In the light of this perhaps measures will be put into place to make sure that public money is spent in the appropriate manner and that suitably qualified personnel and consultants are employed to provide our services.

Anyway there should be various insurance/indemnity policies in place (already paid for out of the public purse)to cover any costs and compensation, I would have thought?(!)

Given that the Council could pay Angus what he is suing for and employ him to do the work for less than the 'winning' bid.

Then just how much more of our money is being squandered by council employees using their friends at inflated prices?
