The truths they don't want you to read....

Once is unfortunate.....

Ooops, I should read the entertaining and informative maciverblog more regularly, as Mr X has the story that I tried to hush in my previous post (now deleted).

Taxpayers grit teeth as Comhairle offers £250,000

In which we make a special guest appearance, along with the utterly disgraceful treatment of Iain Crichton.

I very strongly suspect that this will not be the last complaint about the gritting tenders, and it certainly appears that the taxpayer is going to suffer for officer incompetence (or worse), whilst those responsible for the decisions slope off scot free.

Is it really unreasonable for the poor local taxpayer to expect Councillors to get a grip on what is going on?

Is it not about time that names were named, arses were kicked, lights to be turned off, doors to be closed and kept closed?

This is one big, bent institution. Bent, bent, bent and incompetent. Did Audit Scotland send Jedward in to go through their books?

I think I can best sum up my astonishment by the words

'flicking heck'

And so it goes on Angus. Amazing! In the past they tried to blacken the name of any Councillor if they dared to stand up against the awarding of certain contracts - and then try to get the said Councillor(s) thrown off the Council through the audit and scrutiny process. But what these people didn't and obviously still don't realise is that, then, as now, the truth really will come through in the end, no matter how much a legal loophole may be twisted. When will they ever learn???

They won't. 'Power tends to corrupt and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely' etc.

I shudder to think of what they'd be like in a merged CNES/WIHB scenario.
They should just be 'got rid of'. Soon.

You have contacts 'within' Angus

Did:

Any the female involved in the crooked tender you suffered keep her job - I gather she did?

Has any one been sacked over this nepotist fix?

One question - genuine because I don't know the ins and outs.

If the first contract was awarded in an untoward fashion, could it be that the favoured tender was not the cheapest? Or not best value in some way? In other words, the WI taxpayers have been hit with a double whammy?

Is it any coincidence that all these fek-ups continue to happen on Manfords watch? He is, after all the Chair of Transportation, Barra division.

Actually, the Transportation Committee doesn't award these contracts any more. It changed in 2008 (or so). It's now down to the Chief Exec and the leader...

1.41 Who is the leader? is there one A leader is one that leads in a fair manner. A person that guides
other people The council have no leader just a person that takes a big fat salary and does nothing

If it was the chief ex and the leader that made the decision to award the contract the £250,000.00 out of court settlement should come out of there salaries as they are incompetent but we all know that will not happen so much for cut backs!!!!

Please,Please ,Please let one contractor or person go all the way to court and show the council what they really are a bunch of horrible people the power goes to there heads
