The truths they don't want you to read....

New Councillors

I happened to be at the Comhairle today for another meeting and was accosted in the car park by a new councillor. "I cannot believe the backstabbing and lies", he said, "They'll tell you anything to get you to vote for them".

A similar tale of shock, horror and disbelief was communicated to me on my way up the stairs, and after the meeting when I bumped into the whole Council having had the 'first day' photo taken, I heard more tales of disbelief from all quarters.

I could barely suppress my laughter, and pleasure at not being there.

Until later, when I found that Donald Manford had been stabbed in the back by one of the most duplicitous, malignant, two-faced Councillors. Saddest of all (for Donald), this person likes to be known as an SNP activist, when it suits him. I hope he gets what is coming to him.

Update 18/5 10:15 am - Donald Manford phoned me this morning. He had been approached by Murdo MacLeod bearing a copy of this posting, and repeatedly identifying himself as the person referred to above, and asked Donald to phone me, to get me to remove the comments. Donald sought, and got repeated permission to repeat the conversations. For the sake of clarity, Donald advises me that he spoke to Murdo MacLeod and Murdo said he was unable to support Donald, having previously pledged his support to Alex MacDonald. That he persuaded two others to change their votes from Manford to MacDonald is - of course - neither here nor there.

Why Murdo MacLeod thinks I would describe him as duplicitous, malignant and two-faced is a mystery to me. However, Roddy MacKay seems to think that having been encouraged to stand by Mr MacLeod, to then find Mr MacLeod telling the electorate not to vote for Roddy MacKay under any circumstances, is somehow not what you expect from someone who claims "My word is my bond".

How did Murdo Macleod think you were talking of him unless the cap fits. This is the same Murdo Macleod who was telling people during the election the Angus Brendan Macneil article was a smear by the Labour party, and Angus Brendan only took his jacket off. A smear is when it is a lie and not when someone puts his hands up and admits he did wrong. Well the councillors have seen through him, which left him not even getting on to the Fire Board despite all his wheeling and dealings over the last few weeks.

you'd better watch out you critics the delightful Mr Maroot. Just remember the devil looks after his own. Although, it would appear during the recent elections to senior positions within the council the Devil had a day off and forgot to turn up on shift to support one of his favoured sons.....and imagine Maroot never even made it onto the Fire Committee.

Angus, you should be pleased that Mr Sanctimonious reads your blog as fervently as he reads the Bible ostentatiously.

Perhaps Maroot will be disciplined for voting Labour (Flossie) rather than SNP (Manford).

But I forgot that according to himself he has resigned from the SNP. Once in 1990 to stand against an SNP candidate; once a few years ago, as he was (supposedly) sick of party politics; and last year, after he was caught telling lies about you.

His election slogan should have been "My word is unreliable"

Hi there.

I'm an incomer.

What the hell are you all talking about?

........

There is no 'all', john. The four nutter comments prior to your comment are by one and the same person, the same anonymous clown who spouted complete sh*te for several weeks in a pathetic attempt at scuppering the SNP's chances on May 3rd. Didn't quite work, did it?? :-))

Still, at least stornowaychat's getting a rest now...

MitM: that's true, Stornoway Chat is very quiet at the moment. There's just a hot or not vote for those who have withdrawal systems after May 3rd. Voting is close at the moment...

Yeah, isn't it weird that all these "anonymous" postings use very similar language? Some might say they're a wee bit like the blogs themselves.

Co dhiu, I suppose some people have a bit more time on their hands now their not even on the council...

Sound Cove, if you look back at earlier comments you will find that there was an entire thread about people cross-posting under various names to here and Stornoway Chat.

If you think I have time to comment on my own postings ......

Of course all of the "anonymous" postings were by the same person. Maybe even by someone with more time on their hands now that they're not on the council any more (like he/she could have got anywhere near enough votes had they not "chosen" to stand down!).

Just a sad failure with the pretence of an axe to grind. We all know who you are (mentioning no names)...

Ho hum. Thought all this stuff had finished with the election. Obviously not.

Who have you annoyed now Angus? Labour SNP or just a loser (sound cover)?

Sound Cove sounds remarkably like that sad b****** Machaseo to me and I thought he'd crawled back into the hole from where he came. He just couldn't stop himself but didn't want to lose face by posting under the same name. He obviously doesn't like the fact that there are normal people out there who actual enjoy Angus' blog and find it quite informative.
Conspiracy theory, Angus has nothing better to do than make up psuedonyms and post on his own blog. Sound Cove / Machaseo you are a sad prat!

Have just found out that Mr Macleod didn't get any head of committee posts, what a shame. I wonder if it has anything to do with the amount of people he has back stabbed over the previous years and months. He'll just have to sit in the back benches and be sanctimonious.

Oh dear, I seemed to have touched a raw nerve. Perhaps a bit too close to the truth for your liking, "anonymous".

I was merely suggesting that all of the "anonymous" postings came from one (of the several) councillors who stepped down in May. Don't take it so personally, unless you're the one making the postings...

For the record, I am not machaseo (not, hopefully, a loser or a prat), just someone who wishes you'd stop your negative campaigns and get behind those elected, whatever party they represent or wherever they sit, to serve their constituents. How's about some good news for a change?

"Bored with Sound Cove" - as the poster formerly known as 'machaseo', I resent you telling me, the 'sad bastard', as you so charitably call me, to 'crawl back from where I came' (that says a lot more about you than me), or for that matter assuming that anyone who disagrees with your godlike opinions must be a 'prat'. You are an incredibly negative person and add nothing positive whatsoever to this blog.

I don't know who 'sound cove' is, but I agree with his assertion that people in these islands could do with being a bit more optimistic about what we have in these islands, instead of ruining what we have for short-term gain.

Since retiring as 'machaseo', I have only posted a couple of times on this blog, once as 'the man in the moon' (see earlier in this posting, direct reference to you, 'bored with sound cove', and once or twice as 'anonymous'.

It just makes you look a complete (and arogant) idiot, 'bored with...' to assume you know who posters are, but well, if the cap fits...

...added to which, I'm off back to my retirement home now, with a large glass of Glenfiddich. Cheers!

I am leaving the following question outstanding in the hope of getting some answers.
Q. Is Murdo Maroot a hypocrite?

Anonymous said...

A. Aren't we all, to some degree?
