The truths they don't want you to read....

You have been warned!

A simple 'please' would have changed the whole tone of this leaflet, which was distributed to every house in the area, and put a lot of backs up.

I am at a loss to understand what possible sanctions could be brought to bear on those who disregarded THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Is this now Council policy?  And does it apply to all skips or just to this individual one?

Unbelievable!

You know - if there had been no mention of Sunday on the leaflet at all, it probably wouldn't have been used at all. Now that it has it probably will - and a lot!

This sort of dictatorship is unwanted and almost certainly illegal.

I don't suppose the message will ever sink in to those flouting their Sunday beliefs, that not everyone holds those beliefs, and that certainly includes a lot of Christians on our Island.

I find the continued attempted enforcement of these distrubing.

I'm sure some will now make a point of going to the skip on the Sunday, hehe. What a ludicrous notice. But it does make clear that the old cold authoritarianism is still alive and unwell, fuelled in its delusions and arrogance by the expenses-paid privileges of office. Jeez, I think I need a lie-down after that.

Why do these people think thay have the right to tell us what we can and can not do?

FFS - here we go again. How pathetic and juvenile this post is. You anti-Sunday guys just jump on anything that takes away your "liberties" to do anything on a Sunday. It's really sad. Why don't you take the hours that you're bored doing nothing on a Sunday and use them to learn to grow up...or perhaps go for a walk. After all it's free, and you and your kids (if you have any) will enjoy the fresh air.

2:19PM Isn't going for a walk on a Sunday also "banned", as you should be going to church or staying in, reading a certain old compilation book of fairy stories and other dubious material?

What a PLONKER! Fri 11th March to Mon 14th March. Asking for a STORM IN A SKIP. NB Sunday is the 13th!

Why not locate Skip from Mon to Friday to avoid all this ridiculous "not on a Sunday" lark? The holies of the holly can use this as an opportunity to proselytise the heathen! Is this the real agenda? Bibles at the ready on Sunday 13th!

Not so. We were always allowed to go fo a walk on Sunday as long as we guaranteed to think 'improving thoughts' while doing it.

:-))

I would guess a community skip could accommodate a fair quantity of bibles, with room to spare for the odd elected member...

Well done 2.19. About time someone put the "liberties" lot in their place!

I take it you are being ironic 7-44. We really cannot have people wishing to have any liberties, can we??

What next, people might want to go swimming with their kids on both days of the weekend!

Get real, we need to live together better as a community and start accepting that people in the community have different views on issues and they all should be respected. Some families wish to go to church on a Sunday others wish to tidy around their house and/or go swimming with their kids. We shouldn't even have an issue on this if we were a mature and cohesive community which is surely what we all wish for. This 'us and them' viewpoint is particularly damaging.

I go to church and I don't even live in the area. But I sure am going to line up with my big heap of rubbish on the 13th and throw it loudly into the skip.

Who the f*** does this cove think he is? Oh of course, some sanctimonious elder, who had never had to work 7 days a week to feed a family.
