Sincerity - faked from every pore

Far be it from me to belittle the "start of the Scottish Government’s annual flu and pneumcoccal immunisation campaign", as reported in Hebrides News.

BUT, in a press release from our MSP it is reported that:
Mr Allan is greatly concerned that many people are unaware that they are eligible for a free jab
Obviously a serious matter as he goes on to say
If these people do not get vaccinated, they are leaving themselves vulnerable to the side effects of the virus.
And he then proceeds to list those who would most benefit from the jab. His concern is echoed by Stuart MacMillan MSP, whose blog from yesterday comments that
Mr. McMillan is greatly concerned that many people are unaware that they are eligible for a free jab.
And repeats the press release word for word.

The press release is obviously contagious, but I think I have found the source. Alex Neil MSP is obviously the 'Typhoid Mary' of this story, writing in October 2007 he presciently comments that
If these people do not get vaccinated, they are leaving themselves vulnerable to the side effects of the virus.
Further outbreaks of this highly infectious crap will be reported to the appropriate authorities, but as it only seems to affect SNP MSPs, it is of little consequence to mankind.

anon 3.48...You've just described your own reaction to the blog. What's sad is that our MSPs are apparently so overworked that they cannot find the time to adapt a centrally issued press release. Little wonder ALL parties treat elected representatives as lobby fodder. If the Scottish people don't care about that, they certainly should.

Yawn.

Next MSP press release will be check your car lights the mornings are getting dark don't you know!

I wager that Mr. Allan's original/copied/hacked/whatever, press release will actually do more good in the long run than your rather petty and weakly written post.

Is this the best you can do? No wonder New Labour are dying in the islands...

Is there any truth in the rumour that there are elements within the local Labour Party considering the de-selection of their Westminster candidate.

And why should the Labour Party be looking at deselection of it's PPC when he is fighting for the good of the Western Isles. Unlike our MP with his petty quips about the council and urging HIE to build a new factory for LHC "Of course his secretary's husband works for LHC".

I wonder if the MP asked LHC how much they had invested in the Marybank factory or how much they were going to invest in a new factory.

Also was he not going to push for funding for the weavers till Jim Mather told him to keep his mouth shut. Strange not a word regarding Harris Tweed since then.

Because the he has absolutely no chance, and a great many are aware of this.

get a grip. What did "the invisible minister" of our last MP do for the isles.

Indeed I remember him fighting the cause AGAINST RET. Is that good for the isles? All New Labour Project politicians need a reality check, and realise their day is done.

Along with Cllr. Manford no one has fought so hard for RET as Cllr. Macsween.

He represents the party that was against its immplementation.

What does Macsween stand for? New Labour Project - power for powers sake.

Anon 10:46 AM
Our previous MP delivered 2 new hospitals in the Islands 3 causeways and a bridge. Also the DWP jobs at Castle Street, Consumer Direct in Shawbost and helped gain funding for lots of other work in our Islands most of it while in opposition to a right wing Tory government.

Now tell me what has our current MP done for the Islands.

1.11 how dare you mention macsween in the same breath as Donald Manford, he is not fit to lace his shoes.

1.54 - your forgetting, the New Labour Project is as good as right wing. New Labour - Old tory - Same difference.

Why didnt he not fight for the islands on issues like fuel poverty? Why did he allow transportation costs to the islands to be so high? He was transport minister no?

Our MP has:

Fought the BBC for us,
Exposed the dodgy dealings with the New Labour Project,
Fought the government to help islanders with fuel costs,
Fought for daylight saving hours to best fit Islanders requirements,
Represented striking coastgaurd workers,
Fought the government against post office closures,

etc etc -all in oppostion. All for the Islander - not doing as Mr Blair tells him too like the invisible man. Blairs priorities always came first.

Just contrast 10.46am with 1.54

"Fought" the BBC vs. Secured DWP jobs
"Fought" the government for fuel costs / PO closures vs. Obtaining funding for causeways, bridge & hospitals
"Fought" for daylight hours (is there no limit to this man's powers?) vs. Getting 2 new hospitals

If we want someone who engages in self-serving fights, we could go to the Narrows any Friday night. If we want someone who actually achieves some successes, we need to look elsewhere.

um just remember that any Labour politican wouldnt do anything to upset their parties interest, therefore they dont properly represend their constituents.
Our MP does represent us, and does speak for his constitents.

Good grief, if this is where we're at just now, heaven help us come the General Election!

i have noticed that the SNP bloggers are getting sneakier - they no longer take just one side but actually 'seem' (at least to an outsider) to argue with each other LS
