Tuberculosis
Older readers will remember that One-Tel is situated in a brand new high-tech building on the site of the old County Hospital in Stornoway. The County Hospital was originally built as a Sanitorium to cure the effects of TB.
The blog formerly known as "Angus Nicolson - an incredulous eye on the isles" this was the blog of an ordinary, boring, former Councillor in the Western Isles of Scotland.
Angus is taking a sabbatical to be with his young family
Debate strengthens democracy, except inside the SNP, as he has discovered.

Any proven errors of fact made will be corrected in the original article, or by publishing a correction at the same degree of prominence, or both. As far as practical, others who have quoted the article will be requested to make a note in their article - this would include, for example pinging back with the correction those who had linked to the original piece.
If articles are ever removed, a statement of why that has been done will be left in situ.
The rest is entirely at my discretion.

I await the inevitable comment from Lewis Side Up, or whatever he/she/it is calling themselves this week, blaming the outbreak of TB on some apparent failing of our MSP or other...
a weak posting if i ever saw one
next please
It is worth noting that the youngster who has now been cured of TB worked at One-Tel on a part-time contract.
As a matter of course, all contacts will be checked for TB. The old sanatorium was the place where most sufferers went to die of TB.
You tagged your post Western Isles Health Board. Want to say anything about the evidence given by Messrs Currie and Manson on Feb 27th to the Audit Committee of the Scottish Parliament ? Sounds like they were torn to shreds, and deservedly so.

I think your comment is indefensible in light of such a potentially serious health issue in our Islands affecting our youngsters. If this is what the SNP call a sense of humour then you really need to have another look at your repertoire.
I agree that the post from anon 4:27pm is inappropriate, and I'm glad that the youngster affected has now been cured of TB.
However, it is a bit presumptious for Sunny Side Up to infer that anon 4:27pm is an SNP supporter, never mind suggesting that all SNP supporters would find this funny.
Also, having read some of the personal insults spouted on this blog in the name of 'local politics', to call the comment "indefensible" is perhaps a bit strong.
Sunny's mock indignation and moral high ground posting is as pathetic as it is predictable. And he/she has proved 4:27 correct; not very bright...
