Silence
It is intriguing that a visit to the islands from a senior politician goes unannounced and uncommented.
Especially when I know who, what, where and why; all of which make it even more intriguing.
But, I don't want to rock the boat given the exciting implications coming out of the visit.
I'm just amused at who seems to have been kept in the dark - and why!
(No! I won't name names until I am allowed to)

Is this going to be a game like 20 Questions?
is it........the Rev Dr Ian Paisley? I think I saw him in Donnie the Bookie's putting a tenner on Daniel O'Donnell to succeed him.
It is Paisley he is here to lead the Sunday ferry campain for the LDOS.
or
That mega rich ex PM TB got lost or diverted on a flight home to USA.
Angus
last comment is very interesting.
" I won't name names until I am told"
Who are you taking orders from now?
I don't take orders from anyone - because I am hopeful that something very good is going to happen from the silence, and I don't want to spoil it.
Not even the wife, Angus ??
You don't mean our MP has or is paying a visit to the Islands. Surely not.
Do you mean Jim Mather coming to announce the LWP refusal on March 17th at the Comharlie Energy Meeting at An Lanntair or the Gordon Brown easter family holiday to Harris?
I think you will find anonymous 11.09 that both MP and MSP live on the islands and have the islands as their main place of residence.
I am sure I heard that the MSPs place of residence was Selkirk, and that the MP spent most of his time at his property in Fort William and in Glasgow as he wa sscared to show face on Barra.
Oh I must have been mistaken.
Anonymous 1:55, I think you will find that the MSP was BORN in Selkirk, but now lives in Lewis, he did live in West Lothian, but if you refer to his register of interests you will discover that that house has been sold.
You will also discover if you know anything about the local community that the MP is building a house on Barra, which is a strange thing to do if you don't live there and that he recieves rental income from the Glasgow and Fort William houses (Register of Interests) which hints that somebody else must be living there.
Better than Malcolm MacMillan, who represented the Isles for Labour for 35 years and lived in Greece apparently!
I wouldn't bother, Anon 4:02. When did reality ever get in the way of some commenters here?
I see hypocrisy flourishes in the Gazette. John Morrison is building a 6 bed villa in a rural area as a second home - in Portugal.
These are the guys who go balistic at second home owners on here, no houses for locals etc.
Seems he is as insensitive as his brother!
Is Goggs really coming to Harris for his holidays?!
Plausable. I certainly couldn't imagine him in a pair of Speedo's in the Med!
Got it cats oot the bag.
Michael Martin houses of parliament speaker was over to secure grants and loans to take over the castle and run it as a retreat for stressed parliamentarians.
Silver service, 60" tv screens in all rooms, spas, massage parlours, bowling alleys, swimming pool, the lot. All fees will be covered by mp (and msps, come on there all the same) expenses.
On leaving his post mps will refer to the location as martins memorial...
To anon 10.44
We also have a happy clappy church in Stornoway called Martins Memorial!
