How many ....
(Just for clarity: I'm not having a go at my former neighbour Rev Stewart)
The blog formerly known as "Angus Nicolson - an incredulous eye on the isles" this was the blog of an ordinary, boring, former Councillor in the Western Isles of Scotland.
Angus is taking a sabbatical to be with his young family
Debate strengthens democracy, except inside the SNP, as he has discovered.

Any proven errors of fact made will be corrected in the original article, or by publishing a correction at the same degree of prominence, or both. As far as practical, others who have quoted the article will be requested to make a note in their article - this would include, for example pinging back with the correction those who had linked to the original piece.
If articles are ever removed, a statement of why that has been done will be left in situ.
The rest is entirely at my discretion.

When they come to form the New United Free Associated Presbyterian Non-Hymnal Church of Scotland (Continuing), I'll be there. Got to follow the true faith.
At first sight it may appear to be unreasonable to take such a stance and there are certainly many much more important issues.
However one must have some sympathy with regard to Rev Stewart's position - clearly he sees this as a matter of conscience and that he cannot depart from the ordination vows he took. It is a great pity if this matter does cause a further schism in the free church. There are no winners
Well, well, well. Are they all now singing from the same hymn sheet? Choices have been offered, no autocratic dogma imposed from on "high", what's the problem? Another schism to add to the many preceding? I hope common sense and christian fellowship will prevail. Send the Rev gentleman home - to think again. Never sensible to take precipitate and hot-headed action in such circumstances, and important to give leadership to others in uncertain times. This is his christian duty and responsibility.
Sorry, but what is so wrong with singing in church. I remember as a child looking forward to my favourite hymns being sung.
