Incompetence, sheer pathetic incompetence
That such a loss came about because someone forgot to pay the bill is just jaw-droppingly pathetic.
With two-years notice now required, on top of the two/three years to get legislation drafted, voted upon and passed effectively rules out any use of the power inside a single term of a Parliament.
Hopefully, the SNP will admit just who was responsible for this stupidity.
Unless - of course - it was deliberate, to try and focus the debate on the extremes rather than all the possibilities.
However, it feels more like incompetence; but all the same, whose incompetence?

Incompetence? Possibly, or a wilful act beyond stupidity, by an increasingly unelectable rag- tag mob, led by a raging bull bully of a First Minister. The sooner he goes the better, if we are to have any chance next May. How did it all go so horridly wrong?
A daft, almost token, policy anyhow.
Whats the big fuss over something nobody would use, it was always a vote loser anyway.

Looks like we are in for a period of civil disobedience. Presumably that is why the police were under taking riot control exercise, with shields, batons et al at the Airport on Tuesday.

I think you should publish the IP addresses of all posters as otherwise this is all going to be interpreted as some kind of SNP whack effort

A hilarious statement in itself!
2:20, don't be stupid. This is a blog, part of the reason it is so successful is that it allows for casual, of the cuff anonymous comments. The Hebrideans are very good at finger pointing (particularly after the fact) so the anonymous element is fantastic.
I think you'll find most people are good at finger pointing after the event...not just Hebrideans. General Hindsight was a great General.
Anyone seen the release from the dyed hair Beach Bhoy claiming that it’s all a sinister ploy by those bad boys in Westminster, and that our Great Leader Baw Face Salmond is far too busy campaigning for new tax raising powers to be maintaining existing ones. Laughable watching the beach bhoy and the other irrelevance writing about latest appointments to the House of Lords, dissing CNES because they want to close schools which are nearly empty – but not a word on our inter connector or anything that will actually support the economy of our islands. Also, any word from Angus Brendan about his beloved Ireland? Here’s another reason to laugh; Great Britain - despised by Angus Brendan and the Beach Bhoy now riding to the rescue of a bankrupt Eire, a country they so very recently wished to emulate. Any willing to chip in to buy 2 one way tickets......? or will a British loan of 7 billion quid cover their re-location costs?
Fortunately the electorate do not take the Labour party or political geeks seriously, so my guess is Swinney will get away with it. Reality check for Labour - no one trusts your judgement, go and ask a voter if you don't believe me.
