Alasdair Allan would appreciate your support for the following motion. Voting buttons are attached.
S3M-00630 Alasdair Allan (Western Isles) (SNP): Optimism in
That the Parliament notes the recent YouGov Scottish opinion poll, which finds that the First Minister Alex Salmond is more popular among Labour voters in Scotland than the Labour leader in the Scottish Parliament, Wendy Alexander MSP, by 25% to 20%, and more popular among Liberal Democrat voters than Scottish Lib Dem leader, Nicol Stephen MSP, by 26% to 14%; further notes that 63% of Scots in the same poll believe that the First Minister is doing a good job compared to just 25% who disagree, and believes that the hugely positive attitudes of people in Scotland to the Scottish Government is explained by a further poll finding that more people believe that the Scottish National Party is optimistic about Scotland’s future than all of the other parties added together.
Thank you,
ALAN MASTERTON
Parliamentary Assistant
Alasdair Allan MSP,

So, what's wrong with this?
How infantile is this motion - he should be working for the constituency not the party. Are there any other examples?
Anon 3:20 - Kenny Flip, please stop posting comments like your job depended upon it.
Anon 3:38 are you saying that Anon 3:20 is Kenny MacLeod his personal assistant undertaking party political activities when he is forbidden to do so by his employment?
The next motion:
That the Parliament notes that a recent survey of SNP members indicated that the sun shines out of Alex Salmond, and that he should be given the title and powers of Emperor with immediate effect.
Above comment deleted by mistake. If you want to resend I will repost. Sorry.
So what's wrong with this????!!!!
Where to start
AA has his head stuck so far up Alex Salmond's arse it's not even funny. If he put half as much effort into his actual job i.e. (for the SNP supporters among you) representing the Western Isles interests regardless of party politics.
Oh and Kenny flip, don't take the criticism so personally, I'm sure you wouldn't write this trash independently
Also, glad to see AA is advertising his assistant's positions in the Islands, to give a bright young thing an opportunity. Oh forgot there aren't any bright young things here as they have all left the islands for better / any opportunity.
This takes sycophancy to new heights or should that be depths. He forgot to add……..” and Parliament further notes that such clear and public acts of brown nosing must, and should, as a matter of urgency be rewarded with a wee job in the best wee government with the best wee LEADER in the entire bloody universe”.
Maroot couldn’t have put it better – Alasdair Absentia has learnt the art of brown nosing by the foot stool of a Master. And how it shows. The eldership and the licensing board is where this fellow could end up…..
Mr Allan could always have commented on the impact of the postal strike on business in the Western Isles, and the entire future of the Post Office network here as highlighted by the BBC. But that probably wouldn't earn him as many brownie points with the party.
The constituency comes second yet again.
well Angus if you as a SNP council leader had even cast so much as a sideways glance at Alex's arse you might have found yourself in greater favour. If you wish to continue in you perverse attempts to wreck all you once believed in the only arse you'll find yousrelf up is your own.
Anyone got anything good to say about this sad motion? Thought not, as it brings the islands into disrepute.
Sunny Side Up,
Is there any link between there being so few opportunities at home and the fact that the UK has had a Labour government for the past 10 years?
Or the islands being represented by Labour politicans almost exclusively since 1987?
Probably not - the brightest and most able islanders have being going to seek better opportunities / education on the mainland and further afield for generations.
It is the same in rural communities the world over, my friend.
5penny,
I totally agree - local businesses are being hard hit by the action of the Communications Workers Union.
Now, which political party are they affiliated to again?...
Excuse me while I wipe the sick away.
What a complete cretin the Abscent one is. I believe he was brown-nosing so much that all they could see was the soles of his shoes.
What good is stupid bloody motions like this doing for the good of the Western Isles or for Scotland as a whole.
Just out of curiosity, why do the many bitter individuals who post here refer to Alasdair Allan as absent given that he has a responsibility to be in Edinburgh 3 days a week for parliamentary business?
I have spoken to quite a number of people in the Southern Isles who say that they see Alasdair Allan much more than they ever saw the previous incumbent.
Anon 11:58pm
And it's good to see that AA is continuing on in the same way.
cleannose demonstrates the SNP attitude to success. ignore success, intelligence and ability and promote the brown-nosers.
this explains Mr Allan and Mr MacNeil selection, and subsequent disappearance.
12.01pm,
I think you'll find that Mr. Allan was elected by the 200 local party members out of a choice of three.
That would suggest a bit more democracy than your comments allow for I think.
Mr. MacNeil would have to have been selected by the local organisation as well.
excellent posting Angus. Its got both sides making ludicrous claims, much to the amusement of us impartial observers.
Anon 9:26 I suppose the SNP members in Uist and Barra are very likely to see an SNP MSP more frequently than a Labour MSP. But who dares argue with your scientific samaple.
Any particular reason for the 3 comments edited out from this posting? Just wondering...
On reflection I thought they were inappropriate to a political blog and deleted them.
Yeaas!! Well said Alasdair Allan! Go yerself wee man your doing great!
The party with one elected MSP outside the central belt are history now!
I've just had to clear the vomit off my screen after reading this self-congratulatory motion.
If Mr Allan wrote this by himself then he is an immature w@nker. If he was told to write it and did so then he is a stupid immature w@nker.
and we pay for him to do this $hit....
anon 8:38 am, I think we got the gist of your earlier 'comment' further up the page at 8:11 am, though why you felt it necessary to post what is essentially the same tripe twice is anyone's guess. Excess bile? Insecurity? Boredom?
anon 8.38am - i don't believe that is exactly what we pay him for, or is it that you just left out a comma after this...?
anon 2.21am you must be the first person in history to be totally impartial!
he fancies himself as a bit of an adolf does our alex
