How low can politics go?

According to the BBC News:

SNP leader Alex Salmond said Gordon Brown was a "big feartie from Fife" who had lost credibility.

In other news: Condoleeza Rice said Kim Il-Jung was a "speccy git from Pyongyang", Osama Bin-Laden said George Bush "did a poo in his pants", and the Burmese Junta reacted to global condemnation by saying "Nyah, hyah, hyah!" and sticking out their tongues.

Have we really sunk this low to find this acceptable....

could always say:
'The right hon. Gentleman is afraid of an election, is he? Afraid? Frightened? Frit? Could not take it? Cannot stand it?'

SNP made no real gains at labours expense in 2007, Salmonds posturing reflects poorly on the SNP and by reflection Scotland

reiver 8 of the 9 constituency seats Labour lost went to the SNP including the Western Isles. Your posting reflects badly on this blog and on the Western Isles

Er, unless you hadn't noticed, I think you will find that Angus isn't a politician at the moment, although I'm sure he would be flattered to be compared with Alex Salmond.
At least Alex Salmond has something to say even if it is mindless drivel, unlike our elected politicians.

Sunny Side Up,

You seem to infer that our elected representatives have nothing to say.

And yet our MP is on the front page of the Gazette's website, and our MSP is mentioned in another of Angus' postings this weekend. Take your blinkers off, man!

Penned no doubt by Donnie (Gazette) MacInnes, husband of Cathy (chair of the Western Isles SNP). I wouldn't be surprised if this was written without ABM's knowledge just so that we remember he's actually still around.
And it's old news. The guy has done nothing for these Islands.
I didn't realise that being mentioned on one of Angus' blog postings was likened to a press opportunity. Angus you should be proud.

Methinks the level of politics reflected in Angus's post is reflected in the level of the commentary in reply.

Do our MP and MSP not know each others remit. The MP is writing to the Scottish Government about sheep movements, and the MSP is writing to BAFTA about a Gaelic film not being entered for an Oscar. Obviously they do not talk to one another or do not know their R's from their elbows.

Anon 1.06, Gordon Brown appears to have tried his hand at spinning, and has ended up nearly hanging himself on his own yarn.

Point Less.

The number of seats the SNP gained from Labour was far less than they expected, the seats that they won which took them into office came at the expense of the minor parties, something which I think nobody really expected.
No real inroads were made into the Labour heartlands, something which they will have to do in 2011
