The truths they don't want you to read....

...and then there were two

The ritual culling of the prospectives has taken place, leaving two candidates seeking the Labour nomination, for what some expect to be an early election. (If my list of those culled is correct, then some sanity may have returned to the WICLP)

How can I describe the remaining candidates? Unflattering terms? Politely, as I know them both very well? Or perhaps I'll refrain from naming them until I have only one target to focus on. :-)

However, I have recently received a snatched paparazzi shot taken outside the hustings meeting, and I think it is only fair to let the public know who might be standing .....

Western Isles politics at its best... and the supportive way I intend to comment on any stupid pronouncements from the lucky winner.

Is that not the Barra Sex Pest saying to Kenny Flip. Well thats another fine mess you got me in to Kenny.

Calum Iain made it quite clear on Isles FM who the 3 names were so it's hardly a closely guarded secret that you've managed to get a hold of.

I obviously don't listen to Isles FM enough!

Anonymous said...

who were the three?

He said himself, DJ Macsween and Angus Graham. It's well known that Angus isn't a even a member of the Labour Party, no matter how red he is. Obviously on the wind. he really underestimates the intelligence of the Isles FM listeners.

Charlie Nicholson was supposed to be standing as a candidate. He is only able to think about challenging Macneil because the head brown-noser Maroot persuaded Charlie to stand for Council.

MacNeil must really love Maroot for causing him even more problems by his duplicity.

DJ hasn't been a member since his expulsion either. Apparently he's reapplied though. God, they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Anymore dregs left in the Labour Party to go forward?

WHAT! Tweedly Dumb and Tweedly even Dumber, ABM will walk it.

Anonymous said...

It'll be a sitter. No worries!

Why the Labour Party could put a monkey up against the Barra Sex Pest and walk it.

The sooner we dump him the better. He is an embarrassment with his arrogance and all the Labour Party are going to ask is tell us 5 things you have done for the benefit of the Western Isles.

The only chance we have is if the gazette keeps on refusing to print the anti SNP letters. I have heard they would not print Calum Iain Macmillan's or Binnies letters.

Anon 7:38,

If you look at the "What's going on?" post from last month, you'll find a list of 10 things ABM has done!

Incidentally, we haven't heard from Madrudhach Binnie since he made a horrendous blunder in the same post. Silence is indeed golden.

If Labour Party activists are willing to get involved in reasonable political debate, I'm sure the other parties would welcome this.

However, using language like "Barra Sex Pest" is an insult to the intelligence of the WI electorate, and I doubt this approach will win many votes. How very disappointing that you have resorted to this.

Poor Binnie, can he write? Any letters I've seen from Binnie in the Gazette most certainly weren't written by him! Come on guys, you've met him too!

anon 9:40 - Maroot wasn't being duplicitous. Two-faced, selfish, ignorant or possibly just an arse.

Wasn't he asked to leave a meeting in the Health Board for pleading with them to put a tennant into his daughter's house?

Isn't he the man who claimed lunch expenses every day he was at the Comhairle - £6 expenses for a £4 lunch?

I think you will find that I do not hide behind the Anon identity. Also I am sure that you will find that I pointed out that ABM had not achieved anything for the people of the Western Isles in all 10 points except that he changed the weather map and boy was that not of great benefit to us.

Now are you going to be human enough to ditch your anon identity or are you going to carry on hiding behind it like a snake in the grass.

I here that the council had to return a number of letters to the MP and MSP as the spelling and gramar wsa os bda. I also heard a number of officers have copies of these letters.

Angus said...

Did you "here that" or "hear that"? :-)

If these documents exist, any copies gratefully received.....

Anonymous said...

Perhaps Binnie wrote them.

"Snake in the grass", "Barra Sex Pest", etc.

Would you guys not prefer to debate the issues rather than resort to such petty and childish name-calling?

Did the result of the last two elections not teach you anything? The public are NOT stupid, and will not be swayed by such tactics.

Elections are won (and lost) on policies, and the sooner you get away from the personal attacks and onto the issues, the better your chances of returning your candidate to parliament.

Anon 6.00pm: I could not agree more. Lets get down to politics. Politics is what it all should be about and not name calling. Whether it be ABM, AA or a Labour candidate you want to criticize stop hiding behide the Anonymous tag.

Oh by the way I have seen a copy of these letters that Anon 11.23 is talking about.
I also have a copy of a letter that was sent from the Bayhead office to a journalist and believe me the grammar is something else.

Anonymous said...

I thought I was the only one who got an illiterate letter.

Angus, would you anonomise these letters if we sent them to you for publication?

Angus said...

Of course I will respect anything passed to me in confidence, and remove the identifying details, if requested.
