What is the answer?

The Committee Decision report of the Environmental Services Committee, ratified by the Comhairle, requires the Chief Executive to undertake an investigation - and report back - to the Comhairle on whether "Alasdair Allan MSP has breached any code of conduct" in his actions relating to the wind farm applications.

(I'll get the full text posted when I get back to Stornoway)

Knowing the Council, like I know the Council, whoever asked for this investigation obviously has the answer and will undoubtedly provide the necessary information to the Chief Executive to point the investigation in the right direction.

Who started this hare running?

And, what information do they have?

From Hebrides News:

'A number of Western Isles councillors want to investigate if Mr Allan has "breached any Code of Conduct applying to his behaviour in relation to his actions concerning wind farm developments in the Western Isles." They want the local authority's chief executive to carry out the probe.

The isles' planning councillors are upset that Mr Allan has written all community councils across the islands suggesting that they stage ballots to assess local opinion over the building of giant wind farms. They passed an official recommendation advocating that the full council follows their lead and launch the probe.'

It would seem that AA is in favour of finding out whether the people want wind farms. Surely those on the council who support democracy would applaud such a move.

All community councils are equal, but some are more equal than others...
